Justice Served for George Floyd, Teen Who Recorded His Death Speaks Up

The former police officer Derek Chauvin was found Guilty On All 3 Counts and may serve up to 75 years for killing a Black man.

He is the first police officer to be convicted of killing a Black person in the state of Minnesota.

Last year (2020), Minnesota Police officer Derek Chauvin killed a Black man and this time, the world descended on the state of Minnesota to demand justice for this Black man and all other Black men who are brutalised and killed by police.

Now the man that took the life of Floyd, the rapper known as “Big Floyd,” will possibly serve up to 75 years in prison. He received a guilty verdict on the following charges: second-degree, third-degree murder, as well as second-degree manslaughter. He is the first police officer to be convicted of killing a Black person in the state of Minnesota.

Chauvin left his knee on the neck of Floyd, a 46-year-old Black man till he died.

The young woman who filmed the death of George Floyd shared on her social media accounts a message after the verdict. Darnella Frazier took a 9 minutes-plus video of George’s death and shared it on Facebook.

Darnella, who is 18 years old now, wrote on her Facebook page, “I just cried so hard. This last hour my heart was beating so fast. I was so anxious, anxiety bussing through the roof. But to know GUILTY ON ALL 3 CHARGES !!! THANK YOU, GOD. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.THANK YOU. George Floyd, we did it!! Justice has been served.”
